Groupon’s Guide To Agra

Part of the Golden Triangle tourist destinations, the ancient city of Agra has been alluring globetrotters for centuries with its architectural masterpieces and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

One of The New Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal beckons with imposing architecture of white marble inlaid with semi-precious stones and flower patterns. A richly decorated red-sandstone stronghold of the Mughals, the Agra Fort is also a popular spot for spending afternoons before grabbing a traditional snack in the form of chaat, a fried potato and chickpea patty topped with grated ginger and a spicy-sweet brown sauce. Days can also be spent browsing through the city’s open marketplaces for handicrafts such as leather items, jewellery and Chikan embroideries.
