The Experience

Travellers are invited to get a first-hand view of some of the world’s most remarkable sights while experiencing the enthralling vibrancy of Indian culture and colour with a classic tour that takes them to Delhi, both old and new, to the famous Taj Mahal in Agra, to the stunning Pink City of Jaipur and to Udaipur.

And elephant ride, a cycle rickshaw ride, a horse cart ride and a boat cruise complement the itinerary, along with exclusive shopping tours.

The Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

  • Meet and greet at the airport by representative; transfer to hotel
  • Rest of day at leisure
  • Overnight at hotel in Delhi

Day 2: Delhi

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Morning sightseeing of Old Delhi with rickshaw ride experience at Chandni Chowk; visit to the narrow alleys, colourful markets and local shops; visit to the Jama mosque, one of the largest ancient mosque complex of Asia
  • Drive past the mid 17th century Red Fort (built by Shah Jahan), visit Raj Ghat, memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi
  • Lunch at a local restaurant
  • Later visit at New Delhi, with sights such as Humayun’s Tomb, the mid 16th century memorial of the Mughal Emperor
  • Drive past India Gate, a memorial to the Indian soldiers who died in World War I and in the Afghan Wars (built in the year 1931), and by President’s House, the official residence of the President of India (built in the year 1931), Qutub Minar
  • Overnight at hotel in Delhi

Day 3: Delhi-Agra (205 km, 4-hour drive)

  • Visit to Agra Fort, designed and built by Akbar in 1565 A.D., built with barricaded wall of red sand stone, home to a range of palaces (Jahangir Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Am, Macchi Bhawan, Nagina Masjid, Moti Masjid, Sheesh Mahal, Musamman Burj from where Taj Mahal is visible)
  • Visit to Taj Mahal (closed on Fri), one of the Seven Wonders of the World, built by 20000 men for over 17 years in honour of Shah Jahan’s wife
  • Overnight at hotel in Agra

Day 4: Agra-Fatehpur Sikri-Jaipur (260 km, 5-hour drive)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Drive to Jaipur with en route visit to Fatehpur Sikri, the former capital of Mughal Empire, home to Panch Mahal, Buland Darwaza and Dargah of Sheikh Salim Chisti
  • Resume drive to Jaipur with en route stop Korai Village, a hamlet just off the Fatehpur Sikri Highway, the ancient home of bear and monkey whisperers
  • Check-in at hotel in Jaipur
  • Overnight at hotel in Jaipur

Day 5: Jaipur

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Tour of the Pink City with trip to Amber Fort, located just outside the city, complete with elephant ride experience to and from the top of the hill which the fort is perched on
  • Afternoon sightseeing tour of central City Palace (known for its blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture), the Central Museum, Jantar Mantar (the largest of the five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh), the Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, located close to the City Palace Complex of Jaipur. Overnight stay at hotel in Jaipur.
  • Optional (at extra cost): 45-minute early morning hot air balloon ride over the forts of Jaipur to admire the view of the historic keeps along with rural life

Day 6: Jaipur-Udaipur (405 km, 8-hour drive)

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Drive to Udaipur, “the City of Dawn,” home to a kaleidoscope of palaces, lakes, temples, gardens, and narrow streets, complete with the sight of Lake Pichola
  • Check-in at hotel in Udaipur

Day 7: Udaipur

  • Sightseeing in Udaipur: the City Palace and the City Palace Museum (forming the largest palace complex in Rajasthan), Udai Sagar Lake, the Jagdish Temple, the Lake Palace, the ornamental garden of Saheliyon Ki Bari

  • Historical evening narrative of “sound’ n’ light” show near the City Palace

Day 8: Flight from Udaipur to Delhi
