The Experience
This year, the National Day can be celebrated with a two-night adventure combining Bedouin-style attractions and four-star hotel relaxation. Spend the first night in a desert oasis and take part in a range of activities before heading to Umm Al Quwain to bask in the sun, lounge by the pool and enjoy a variety of beach games and attractions.
Day 1 - Friday, 30 Nov 2018; meals - dinner
- The adventure starts at the Bedouin oasis camp in Ras Al Khaimah (please note that transfer to the camp is not provided); guests can experience the oasis life, tuck into a buffet dinner, take part in a range of activities, and mingle around the bonfire under the starlit sky.
Day 2 - Saturday, 1 Dec 2018; meals - breakfast
- Wake up to the birds chirping and start the day with a yoga session before some breakfast followed by tea or coffee. Around 11am, head to the four-star Pearl Beach Resort & Spa in Umm Al Quwain to enjoy a myriad of beach activities such as three-legged race, water bucket relay, caterpillar traverse, dodgeball, and obstacle course. Enjoy leisure time to make the most of the on-site facilities or simply bask in the sun with a drink in hand.
Day 3 - Sunday, 2 Dec 2018; meals - breakfast and lunch
- Feel free to lounge on the beach or take a dip in the pool in the morning before the check-out and head to a local restaurant in Um Al Quwain to enjoy some lunch with the rest of the group before heading back home.
The Campsite: Bedouin Oasis Campsite
Resting amid the fine dunes of the desert expanses of Ras al-Khaimah, just a 15-minute drive from the airport and a 30-minute drive from Sharjah and Ajman, the Bedouin Oasis invites guests for a Bedouin experience by re-enacting the traditional ways of the ancient desert dwellers.
Keeping true to the long-established aesthetics of the old abodes, Bedouin-style tents dot the camp, some featuring adjoining baths with showers. In order to closely replicate the Bedouin lifestyle, the camp makes use of traditional lightings such as gas lights, candles and antique lanterns.
The Hotel: Pearl Beach Hotel & Spa
Set just a stroll away from the township in Umm Al Quwain, the four-star Pearl Beach Hotel boasts its own private beach, two swimming pools, well-equipped gym, and children play area. Relaxation can be enjoyed in the air-conditioned rooms featuring elegant decor with wooden furnishings. Each room comes complete with a TV, mini-fridge, hospitality tray, and a private bathroom. Culinary options span the globe at the on-site Oyster Bay Restaurant offering oriental, continental and Arabian treats.
