Covering the art of kokedama, a Japanese variant of bonsai, this two-hour workshop aims to impart the basic techniques needed to start off with the hobby. Led by a leading bonsai expert in the MENA region, the workshop will begin with a background on the tradition of kokedama, as well as tips on how to display and care for the plants. Materials and instructions to create one bonsai ball is also included, as well as a kit to continue the balling at home. Following the class, each guest will be subscribed to the Bonsai Dubai newsletter which will provide further maintenance support.

The Merchant

Bonsai Middle East was started by Rob Macnair in 2006, after he moved to Dubai and found that there was nowhere for him to indulge his passion of Bonsai trees. Today, the shop supplies all the equipment necessary to grow and care for the miniature trees, and the website offers information on the history of the art of Bonsai, as well as tips and advice on caring for them.
