The ten cottages tastefully constructed by master artisans from a self help group in Tripura, offer a unique living space backed by the modern comforts of home. Bordered by the Mobor beach on the one side and the River Sal on the other, the project is entirely sustained by the environment. The bamboo used for the cottages is grown for commercial purposes in the forests of Tripura and not cut down indiscriminately. The artisans, who are slowly moving away from their traditional craft of creating bamboo items, are given a new lease of life for their fading art through this project.
Guests can step out from the bamboo cottage and walk around the lush environs comprised of 80 varieties of plants carefully selected due to the arid conditions. Vermiculture fertilizes the palm grove and the gardens, so no artificial fertilisers have been used. In addition solar water heating and sewerage systems are both in sync with Mother Nature. In the evening walk along the Mobor beach and take in a romantic Goan sunset, as the golden orb sinks into the sea.
